My tastebuds miss Durian! • 07.30.08
Huhuhu!
Since I came here in Baguio, I was unable to eat any product with my favorite fruit - durian. Well, the King of all fruits is a product of my hometown Tagum City where we also celebrate the crazy durian festival where you can eat a range of durian products that includes durian cakes, shake, juice, jam, tarts, buns, many desserts, and even pizza! Yum yum yum. Well, most of the people in Baguio and in Luzon does not like durian basically because of its fowl smell and unique taste but to us Dabawenyos (people of Davao), it is something we would celebrate for.
The durian fruit is often called the world’s most dangerous fruit. It is round or egg shaped and usually weighs 2.8 to 3.5 kg (6 to 8 lb). Its thick rind is green or yellowish and covered with hard, sharp spines. The fruit must be handled by its stalk to avoid injury from the spines. A human or animal hit by a falling durian can be seriously injured or even killed. Inside the fruit are one to four large seeds, each up to 3.5 cm (1.3 in) long, that are edible when roasted, fried, or boiled. The rest of the fruit consists of a custardlike pulp that is foul smelling but very tasty. The pulp is usually eaten fresh but is also added to cakes, ice cream, and other foods. Elephants, tigers, rhinoceroses, and other wild animals are attracted by the odor of ripe durians and compete for fallen fruit.
Scientific classification: The durian tree belongs to the bombax family, Bombacaceae. It is classified as Durio zibethinus.

Everybody in our nursing research class is required to have a research output before the end of the semester. At this very early stage, almost everyone is wanting to have every part done smoothly but the problem is that we need a lot of sources. The internet is a big source of information and we can definitely get so much from it but the problem is that in doing a publishable research output, every source must be reliable and it is sad to say that a lot of articles you get from the internet are not reliable.
I have been into a great deal of depression lately. I really cannot fully explain the reason why because even i myself am not sure why such malignancy has been pulling me really down from time to time. It is a fact that no one has no problems but I know that what I am carrying now and how i handle it is kind of different from how someone normal would. I had this evil feeling since I was a child and its peak was during my college days. After a year or two, I found a solution and some mastery over my feelings but I know that I should be cautious or else I would have a relapse. Just lately, my most feared relapse has been haunting me again. The evil thoughts and the no-source anxiety has been getting the most of me. I had no choice but to call for help. I am in distress. I called my mom and she told me to not think of it and be positive. She told me to pray whenever the bad thoughts come back. And so i did. Talking to my mom gave me some resolution but not fully. The night before my crisis, I took a rosary and tied it to my hand before i slept. Amazingly, I noticed a great change the next day. Although the evil thoughts were still there, my coping was quite effective and although it is still not fully gone right now, I am still thankful that there is positive progress with my emotions. God is really powerful and I thank him so much for giving me the cure and the support poeple I need despite the fact that they are far away. I guess I am okay now but I am hoping and still praying for full recovery.
Yes, I am a spiritual person…. yea yeah. Well, I am a devotee of St Jude Thaddeaus and I have been asking lots from God thru his catalytic power. Here is his Novena that I would like to share to everyone who wishes to increase their chance of getting what they want….
Excitement was shifting from neuron to neuron. I slowly opened the parcel containing my 14th birthday gift. I wondered why dad would give me two thick paperback novels that seemed to be appropriate for children of half my age. I brought it to class. No one seemed interested. A week after, some weird-looking muggles approached me and said that the book was a hit in Great Britain. Duh, stupid muggles! Well, that convinced me, atleast, to open the book and read from line toline, then page to page. That’s when I started to fly a broom and play quidditch, wave a wand and enunciate spells, and put on a hat that screamed… SLYTHERIN!
