Gerangderella
Once upon a time in the land of ARINGAY, LAUNION, Philippines, there lived a simple girl whose beauty is found only in the inside. Take note - only in the inside. Her name was Gerang. There was obviously no doubt that she inherited her father’s dominant traits that was believed to transform into a half-human-half-horse (tikbalang) at night. Just like his horse daddy whom was excommunicated by the society, baby Gerang was thrown afloat in the river after her family knew about her fate… ‘til a woman found her and claimed her as her own.

In the sweet new family, Gerang helped around with most of the household chores. – washed the dishes, cooked “dinengdeng” and other Ilokano delicacy, did the laundry, fed the dogs and farm animals, drove a bike to buy from the market, and helped with the Sari-sari store where she was known to shout “ANO!?!” whenever a customer drops by. She was sent to school by the generous family and fed her with the only type of food that she eats – weeds and grasses. On special occasions like her birthdays, she was served Bermuda Class A grass.![]()

Her inner beauty was her key for a happy life with lots of friends and people who love her. But there is one thing missing that seemed like a vacuum that keeps eating her soul, a missing piece in the puzzle, a need unfulfilled. She felt that somewhere out there, her soul mate was waiting for her. This bothered her so much ‘til one day an envoy from announced that the blind prince of the kingdom will marry the most gorgeous and hot bitch in the ball to be held the next day.
Gerang had a crazy thought of joining the ball but she realized that with her beauty, she had no chances of winning the prince’s hand. She cried alone in her room when suddenly her fairy grandmother popped out of nowhere and gave her a total makeover with her magical make-up kit.
Gerang was ready to go to the ball. Will she be the most gorgeous and hot bitch in the ball? Will she win the blind prince’s heart? To be continued…
