EBSCO - The SLU Online Library
Everybody in our nursing research class is required to have a research output before the end of the semester. At this very early stage, almost everyone is wanting to have every part done smoothly but the problem is that we need a lot of sources. The internet is a big source of information and we can definitely get so much from it but the problem is that in doing a publishable research output, every source must be reliable and it is sad to say that a lot of articles you get from the internet are not reliable.
Our teacher said that there is a solution to our problems in getting related literature and that is the EBSCO. She then scheduled us an orientation about EBSCO last saturday and I was totally amazed on how this kind of system works. EBSCO is an online library where books and its contents, articles, magazine and newspaper articles, and a lot more is stored in its database. In order to acess EBSCO you have to pay for it but Saint Louis University has bought it for the students so all of the Louisians can access EBSCO inside and even outside the school internet premises with a secret password exclusively given to us.
SLU houses 3 big floor of books for a library and with the addition of EBSCO, it is now one of the most amazing libraries in the Philippines!
