Tagum City… I long for your embrace!
It has been a while since I am away and, oh well, I must say that I really miss my hometown. Right now, nothing will beat the reward of being able to go home for a week or two. Here are some of the things I really miss…
- My family. I miss driving my mama to work and seeing her again after work with a pasalubong for me (actually, it is a pasalubong for Lorenz, not for me). I miss Lorenz, the stubborn yet adorable little critter at home. I miss people taking care of me treating me like prince. I miss the massage of my favourite yaya. I miss Lovelove, my black Japanese Pittz, who would always greet me first after I get home and get out from the car. I miss my ate and my Nephew Juren’s cry of fear whenever he sees me. I miss the rest of the people at home who would always tolerate my superb performance on the videoke every afternoon.
-My Friends. I miss Lani and our daily hangout @ Miko’s brew with our laptops Acey and Bumblebee. She would always chat with her boyfriend and play pool while I do the regular stuffs I do. We love the blackforest cake and I miss the nonfat milkshake I always order. I miss Alex visiting me at home whenever I cannot give him a visit to his. We always share brilliant ideas and talk about how great and intelligent we are. LOL! I miss Caesar, Joyce, Peewee, Tessa, Gretchen, and the rest of my gang who would always give me an open door to their homes whenever I feel bored and in dire need of a conversation. I miss the Judaz circle of friends whom I would transiently meet up with for gimmicks at night when they are home in Tagum too!
- I miss the heat. Uhmm… No, I do not miss the heat.
-I miss my car and going around the city. I miss going to Jollibee, Chowking, Via Ame, Mcdonalds and other places, not to mention Freedom’s park and the City pavilion where I would sometimes walk around and check if there are bands or events the Mayor has in store for everybody.
- I miss the big church and going to mass with my best friends or with my mom. I miss the night ukay-ukay and the night barbecue galore where an entire busy street is converted into a long open restaurant. I miss the smoke too… (from all that barbecue being cooked)
- I miss the mall although it is really not worth missing it. I heard they are building two new big malls now so I am excited to see that soon. I miss the beaches. I miss the schools and the hospitals.
- I miss the small things that I used to not appreciate when I was there - the air, the noise, the arrangement of stuffs, even the stench of some nasty places. Sigh… I wish I could go back soon! There is truly nothing that can beat home sweeet/bitter home.
